Isla traveled to New Zealand this week to compete in the New Zealand national figure skating champs after qualifying in July. She competed on Thursday and got her highest technical score of her skating career so far and was awarded the New Zealand National title in the juvenile over 12 division.
Principal Andrew Thomas said, “It is with no surprise that Isla won this competition. I have been watching from the wings, for nearly 5 years now, her progression. I am sure of a World and/or an Olympic debut if she keeps going the way she is, and I cannot wait to watch. We are very proud of her indeed”.
